The curriculum for ELA is based upon the Common Core Georgia Performance Standards (CCGPS). These standards are designed to measure student growth in the following areas:
- Reading: Literature (i.e. stories, poems, plays)
- Reading: Informational Texts (i.e. news articles, instructions, text books)
- Reading: Foundational Skills (i.e. recognizing letters, letter sounds, fluency)
- Writing (stories, instructional texts, reviews)
- Speaking & Listening (presentations, discussions, story-telling)
- Language (punctuation, grammar, vocabulary)
