Hello BES Parents,
As we continue to prepare for student school re-entry, we wish to continue to ensure you have our most current mitigation practices in written form for your reference. Please find the RE-ENTRY CONSIDERATIONS for parents, students and staff below.

Below are guidelines to follow noting when to stay home.
RE-ENTRY CONSIDERATIONS: WHEN TO STAY HOME
When should students stay home based on symptoms? If a student has ANY of the symptoms below, STAY HOME AND DO NOT REPORT TO ANY DCSD BUILDING! Contact your healthcare provider. - Fever/temperature at or above 100.4 or chills or sense of having a fever
- Cough that you cannot attribute to another health condition
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Ongoing fatigue that cannot be attributed to another health condition
- Muscle or body aches that cannot be attributed to another health condition or specific activity, such as physical exercise
- Headache that cannot be attributed to another health condition
- New loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat that cannot be attributed to another health condition
- Congestion or runny nose that cannot be attributed to another health condition
- Nausea or vomiting or diarrhea that cannot be attributed to another health condition
Children with COVID-19 generally have mild, cold-like symptoms, such as fever, runny nose, and cough. Vomiting and diarrhea have also been reported in some children. |

Update: October 19, 2020
STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT applies to all DCSD enrolled students whether they use a DCSD issued device or not.
Attendance
Student attendance is taken daily and in 3 different possible ways.
1-Live sessions. Students are required to have CAMERAS ON. Attendance is monitored.
2-Daily Check-ins. Virtual check-ins at 1:50pm each day and email correspondence and email
3-Submitting assignments by the due date.
RETURN TO SCHOOL BUILDING
The plan to open with a hybrid model November 2,5 and 6th has been delayed due to an undesirable number of COVID cases reported in DeKalb county.
MAP TESTING
MAP testing begins Oct 26-Nov 11. Practice will occur this week, Oct 19-23.
Headphones Are Available: K-2 Only for MAP testing. Please come by Briarlake Wednesday, October 21, 12-3:00 pm.
CHROMEBOOK DISTRIBUTION
PreK and Kindergarten Chromebooks will be distributed Wednesday, October 21, 12-3:00 pm. Completed User Agreement is required.
